A Little History, In Case You're Curious…

Jessie's love of art started at a young age and continued through high school, where she spent as much time as possible in the art room. She headed to Kutztown University with dreams of art school but, intimidated by the portfolio requirements, ended up earning a degree in Video Production instead. Still, she never stopped drawing and painting.

After college, Jessie worked as a set dresser for live television at QVC in West Chester, PA. Outside of work, she exhibited paintings in galleries and at festivals around Philadelphia and even started hand-screen-printing T-shirts (she still has all the screens!). As she became more involved in Philly's art scene, she considered returning to school for her MFA.

But life took a different turn. Jessie began a career in creative project management, bought a house, got married, became a dog mom and then a human mom. Somewhere along the way, she stopped drawing for nearly a decade.

Then, in July 2016, she picked up a pen again.

Drawing became a way to slow down, stay grounded, and reconnect with something she loved. She launched jessiehusband.com, started sharing her work, and slowly built an audience.

Today, Jessie creates colorful, detailed illustrated maps and music-inspired artwork celebrating the places, songs, and little things that make life special.

"I finally feel like I've found my groove. I love drawing maps and creating art inspired by music and the places I love. I'd still love to illustrate beer labels and design posters for the Avett Brothers (or Brandi Carlile!). But my biggest goal is simple: never stop drawing again."
